**APPRENTICE JOINER**

An Apprentice Joiner will contribute to all areas of carpentry and joiner within repairs, maintenance and servicing, and planned works. The apprentice will also complete a range of maintenance activities to a diverse customer base for Great Places Housing Group.
**CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To ensure the responsibilities of the post are carried out in a way that reflects the standards, vision and values of Great Places;
- To deliver value for money and manage resources effectively and efficiently, ensuring that targets (financial and non-financial) are met;
- To promote Great Places to employers, sector bodies, and the local community, developing effective partnerships with employers, the funding agencies and other representative bodies;
- To observe all policies / procedures / working practices / regulations and in particular to comply with Great Places Equality and Diversity Policy, Health and Safety Policy and Safeguarding Policy
- To undertake appropriate training and staff development.
- To identify and develop individual contribution in the delivery of the Great Places competency framework

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Under supervision of a competent and experienced operative, learn how to deliver basic carpentry and joinery on the full range of properties
- Assisting in the delivery all aspects of repairs and joinery which can include fabric of a building, for example repairs to walls, doors, doorframes, skirting boards or plaster damage to internal walls. Also, preparation of timber moulds for the manufactureof precast products laying out marks, measurements on material from blueprints, drawings, or samples
- Liaising with colleagues regarding health & safety hazards, supporting with action as requested to ensure compliance with agreed policy, procedures, law, and health and safety
- To undertake the correct diagnosis and method of responsive maintenance to achieve a ‘first time fix’ and outstanding customer satisfaction
- To provide a high level of customer service at all times, behaving in a respectful, courteous and polite manner to internal and external customers when representing Great Places Housing Group
- To adopt a flexible responsive maintenance service between the core working hours (currently Monday to Friday 8.00am - 6.00pm)
- To complete all requirements of the apprenticeship programme and ensure other essential learning has been achieved within an a timely manner
