Premier Engineering has engaged with a key client and a market leader in Design & Manufacture of Water Flow Products & Ceramics based in Dudley, West Midlands. A unique opportunity has arisen for talented individuals to invent, design and develop new productsto challenge the current market and set the direction for our products throughout the UK and European Markets.
Due to business growth and demand we are currently looking for a Senior Design Engineer to work within our expanding design team to help develop innovative new products that exceeds expectations and helps support our vision of excellence and quality.
Our designers will develop products from initial concepts through to manufacture using their abilities to ensure seamless integration of future generations of our products.
**Responsibilities**:

- Plan design projects from concept to sale
- Use your knowledge of mechanical engineering and the injection moulding process for product optimisation to improve both design and performance
- Work with our in house specialists to develop products that maintain highest standards
- Take an active, hands-on role to ensure all engineering problems are resolved thoroughly
- Design and build prototypes of chosen concepts
- Use our established test processes, best engineering practice and discipline to deliver robust solutions in agreed timescales
- Understand tolerance analysis and design manufacture principles
- Maintain all supporting documentation to ensure accurate integration with all other departments within the company
- Prepare and deliver design reviews to departmental managers and directors at board level as required

**What we are looking for**:

- Relevant qualification at either degree level or HND
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Design Engineer position
- 3D CAD experience
- A working history with flow control, water flow or valve design
- Previous experience of mechanical engineering
- Excellent knowledge, appreciation and understanding of design for injection moulding and metal casting
- Good verbal communication skills and confident presentation skills
- The ability to work individually or within a team environment
