The main responsibility of the role is to provide technical and administrative support to Workshops to meet crane/mechanical handling repair, operation, and maintenance objectives.
**Main responsibilities**
**Technical**
- Provide technical assistance to all workshop Supervisors
- Provide a focal point for technical and workshop related queries from engineering teams.
- Process and control Job Cards issued by engineering teams to the workshops
- Management of hook block/headache ball refurbs within workshops
- Assist Workshop Planner in the completion of planning schedules for workshops
**Engineering**
- Preparation and review of workshop CTR’s to present to internal engineering teams
- Review of calculations and work procedures supplied to workshops
- Completion of purchase requisitions
- Coordinate the dispatch and transportation of equipment between workshops
- Assist Workshop Manager to ensure all maintenance is completed within the workshops
- Assist Workshop Manager in the creation and continual review of workshop processes, practices and procedures
**HSEQ responsibilities**
- It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
- The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
**Qualifications and experience**
- Sound technical knowledge and a background in Mechanical, Hydraulic or Fabrication of at least 5 years.
- Be able to use knowledge gained to assist workshop supervisors to meet tight deadlines
- Be able to work under own initiative, capable of prioritising and managing workload to meet applicable deadlines.
- Be capable of communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office packages.
