Totton, United Kingdom South Central Ambulance Service Full time

**South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of emergency, urgent care and non-emergency healthcare services, along with commercial logistics services.**

The Trust delivers most of these services to the populations of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire as well as non-emergency patient transport services in Surrey and Sussex.

Could you reassure a patient with dementia on their way to a hospital appointment?

Can you keep your cool when there’s bumper to bumper traffic that might make you late to collect your next patient?

Ambulance Care Assistants take patients to and from their appointments-you are more than just a driver; you’ll be a highly trained, caring, professional person who makes a positive impact on patients and colleagues every day.

**We are offering a great starting salary of £22,383 pa. Plus, for all hours you work between 8pm and 6am Monday - Friday and any time on Saturday, you’ll get a shift bonus taking you to at least £16.15 per hour. For Sundays and Public Holidays you could be earning at least £20.96 per hour. Averaged over the year, this means your salary could be up to £24,621.**

**The Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) role is a gateway into the Ambulance Service. People who join as an ACA can go on to be Team Leaders or Managers within their area or move to work in the frontline teams or one of the many supports and corporate teams.**

To be a part of our team and work in a privileged and trusted role with members of the public, you’ll need to be a people person, have empathy and patience, with the ability to make good judgment calls. You do not need to have a medical background, just a desire to help.

As lifting is an integral part of the role, looking after yourself, keeping fit and strong should also be a priority for you. We all contribute professionally to the wider team that we operate within here at SCAS, as we all have an important role to play in patient care.

If this sounds like a challenge you’ll relish, and you have the resilience to achieve this time and time again throughout your working day, we want to hear from you
