**Nursery Room Leader**
Line Manager - Nursery Manager

We are looking to recruit caring and enthusiastic Nursery Room Leaders to work on a full time basis or part time basis within our dedicated, forward thinking Park and Dean Park Nursery teams.

We are successful and thriving child-led nurseries for children aged 0 to 4 years old.

Although we have effectively 2 teams the aim is for the Nursery to run as a whole, supporting each other as necessary. You will be required to work at both our nursery sites based in Bournemouth.

Park School Nursery is located within the grounds of Park School, a beautiful setting in leafy grounds, and it is our vision to create a nursery full of smiles.

Dean Park Nursery is located within Bournemouth’s beautifully converted Cooper
Dean pavilion. From the lighting, textures and fabrics, to the inspiring books, prints and large variety of resources, every last detail has been carefully selected around the child. It is our vision to create a nursery full of smiles.

**Overview **To manage the efficient running of the room, co-ordinating the staff on a day to day basis and overseeing the care of the children.
- Day to day communication with Nursery Manager covering children and staff progress and concerns.
- Effective leadership, day to day management, motivation and mentoring of the staff within the room.
- Weekly meeting with Nursery Manager.
- Co-ordination of planning: weekly/evaluations/child initiated/medium and long term.
- Liaison and main senior point of contact with parents of children within your room.
- Create a stimulating learning environment that moves with the children’s interests.
- Develop child initiated activities.
- Check all staff in the room complete paperwork each week.
- Check ILD daily entries are completed.
- Check Attendance grids/signing in and out sheets are completed.
- Work as a team and make sure daily jobs are shared out fairly e.g

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Strong day to day management of staff within the room.
- Make sure the room is kept clean, tidy and organised.
- Check documents sent home are returned e.g. All About Me.
- Support EAL/SEN children - liaise with Nursery Manager/SENDCo.
- Support children’s transition/settling in process.
- Keep files/records up to date this may be weekly/monthly/termly/annually.
- Keep up to date with own knowledge and learning (CPD).
- During tours of the nursery, if appropriate greet the visitors and offer information, if necessary.
- Respond to any reasonable requests from the Nursery Manager.

Duties will include:

- Ensuring the children are safe at all times and well looked after.
Stimulating the children through craft, singing and play activities.
Keeping the nursery tidy and clean.
Ensuring all paperwork is kept up to date.
Reading stories
Encouraging children to explore and follow their imaginations, for example, using our Mud Kitchen, sand-pit or ship

You must be a reliable and conscientious individual who commits themselves to their work and to be successful in this role you must be creative and committed to a career within Childcare.
- **You must hold a NVQ Level 3 childcare or equivalent and have Room Leader **_
- **Experience, Forest School experience desirable.**_
