We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Mental Health Practitioner within the CAMHS Work Stream for the All Age Access Team.
Our All Age Access Team is part of the Crisis Care Centre, at Harplands Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent which has been designed to the highest level of specification. This modern purpose designed unit is the central point for all those in need of a Crisis Assessment/Intervention.
You will be working within the All Age Access Team and will have a particular focus on the CAMHS work stream. This is a single point of access for all referrals for children and young people living in Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire. You will triage, accept and prioritize referrals for children and young people up to the age of 18 and directly assess their complex emotional, behavioral and mental health needs when they present in crisis. The service places a strong emphasis on collaborative engagement with service users and their carers in the formulation risk and safety plans. Previous experience of CAMHS or within a similar children’s service is desirable alongside experience of multi-agency practice and knowledge of the third sector.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of care and for the supervision of non-registered staff who are carrying out all aspects of the caring process. The post-holder will assist in setting and maintaining standards of care, whilst maintaining effective integration with the multi-disciplinary team and assist with the facilitation of a collaborative approach to patient focussed care.

Registered Nurses will administer and manage medicines according to policy and local protocol. To assess patient response and provide advice and education to junior staff and both patient and carers in respect of prescribed medicines
Provide support and guidance to junior or less experienced staff in the planning and delivery of care.
Maintain the therapeutic milieu, taking a proactive approach, supervising and supporting others in the same. Planning clinical activity in accordance with the needs of the service.
Taking prompt action on changes in condition, liaising with other members of the clinical (Multi-disciplinary) team when necessary, reviewing nursing care and communicating any amendments to the care delivery.
Develop skills in respect of specific interventions that are appropriate to the clinical area, act as a lead in developing nursing practice in relation to this.
