**Stores Assistant**
Black Box Security Alarm Systems Ltd. is a well-established electronic security and life safety company in rapid expansion, looking for new team members to help us grow.
Working within our dedicated operations department, the Stores Assistant is a newly created role supporting our Stores & Vehicle Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the company stockroom, based at our offices in Chorley. We would love someone to join our team who has ideally had some previous similar experience, or someone keen to learn with a can-do attitude. This is a full-time role, working Monday - Friday 8:30am -5:00pm - so no shifts, evenings or weekends

**Purpose of the role**
As Stores Assistant, together with our Stores & Vehicle Manager, the main duties will be to manage the receipt and dispatch of materials and goods to our stockroom, ensuring that our engineers and customers have all the equipment that they require. You will need to maintain accurate stock levels using the company database, and be able to communicate with other departments and customers, whilst making sure that the stockroom is clear and tidy and adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines.
**Key roles & responsibilities**
- Perform stockroom assistant duties in an office stockroom setting
- Take stock of incoming materials and supplies as per invoices
- Bag and pack materials for customer delivery
- Receive and store shipping materials
- Deliver stockroom materials to internal and external customers
- Assist stockroom staff in organizing and managing stockroom
- Ensure accuracy in physical verification of stocks
- Enter stockroom data in appropriate databases
- Implement safety standards in handling customers’ stocks
- Ensure compliance of stockroom procedures in handling customers’ stocks
**Person Specification**
Essential
- Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills
- Competent user of computers & Microsoft Office programmes
- Reliable, dependable & trustworthy
- Ability to follow procedures in a safe & efficient manner
- Keen to learn, with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Desirable
- Experience working in a similar role is highly desirable
- Driving Licence
