What matters most to us is your enthusiasm, your ability to engage and enthuse our young people and your passion for learning.

As the Dog Grooming Coordinator you will ensure the smooth operational running of our K9 Dog Grooming and Willow Kennels at the Cambridge Campus and the Dog Grooming Parlour at the Cambridge and Wisbech Campus as an educational and commercial facility. This is a broad and varied role with a focus on working with local communities to ensure that the parlours continue to grow and ensuring that stock and equipment are maintained. Another core component of the role is to step in to support our learners by providing teaching, coaching and learning support, by providing cover for colleagues. We would love to hear from you if you have experience of working closely with a wide range of dogs and have experience working safely and independently.

Both of our salons are open to the public Monday
- Friday allowing our students to get the best hands on experience, so that they leave with industry ready skills and experience. We have invested heavily into both salons to ensure that our students and customers receive the best grooming experience.

Your experience and qualifications in dog grooming is far more important than teaching qualifications. There is a requirement to be qualified to PTLLS level, but if you do not have this CWA will support you to obtain. CWA is proud of its track record of supporting our staff to achieve their teaching qualifications with many of our current lecturers being appointed in support staff roles.

A full Level 3 dog grooming qualification is essential, and you must either have qualifications in Health and Safety or be willing to obtain. You must have a Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE A*-C/9-4) or equivalent or be willing to obtain. A full Driving Licence or access to transport is essential for this role due to the need to visit two of our campuses
- Wisbech and Cambridge.

We offer an excellent package including a generous annual leave allowance of 30 days per year for support staff,** plus** five College closure days, plus Bank Holidays, fee waivers on some College courses, a contributory pension scheme with the Local Government Pension Scheme (current employer contribution is 22.2%), discounts with local businesses and access to a cycle to work scheme. CWA focusses on staff well-being and utilises both internal and external resources, such as a well-being committee and access to a free and confidential Employee Assistance Programme as well as comprehensive training and development.

This college is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer.
