We are looking for a learning disability nurse/clinical psychologist/allied health professional to provide clinical expertise, supervision and training around learning disabilities, autism, positive behaviour support and challenging behaviour, whilst working within the context of a multi-professional framework.

You will carry a defined caseload of children and young people with learning disabilities with the most complex needs and risk presentations, where a very high level of clinical expertise is required to deliver person centred care. You will act as transformational role model/guide and expert resource, to deliver specialist learning disability assessment, intervention & outcomes.

The post holder will lead in the clinical development of the multi-disciplinary team and its practitioners to ensure practice is needs led, person centred, evidence based, and in line with current and emerging legislation and clinical guidance. They will lead on clinical quality, audit and improvement initiatives within the team.

As part of a growing multi-agency team, will have a responsibility to ensure clinical skill development, quality of care, leadership and professional development of the workforce.

They will provide clinical expertise, supervision and training around learning disabilities, autism, positive behaviour support, challenging behaviour, whilst working within the context of a multi-professional framework.

The post holder will carry a defined caseload of children and young people with learning disabilities whom have the most complex needs and risk presentations, where a very high level of clinical expertise is required to deliver person centred care.

The post holder will lead in the overall approach to clinical assessments of children and young people with learning disabilities that are identified on the Dynamic Support Database to avoid crisis, out of area placements and hospital admissions, support discharge and the return of out of area children and young people where indicated.

They will act as transformational role model/guide to deliver specialist learning disability assessment, intervention & outcomes.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
