About The Role
**Location**: Banwell, North Somerset
- **Days & Hours: Team Leader**: 24 hours per week to be worked as 8 hour shifts over 3 days per week.
- **Bank/Part Time Support Worker**: 8 hour shifts available over 3 days per week**Pay**:
**Team Leader**:£17.00 per hour,
- **Bank/Part Time Support Worker**:£15 per hour**Driver required?** Essential**Using Own Vehicle for work purposes?** Yes, to take client to appointments and social outings**Essential**:Supporting adults with spinal injury and complex mental health issues.

Our client, Mary lives in an adapted bungalow with her two small dogs. She has a spinal injury which means she is now a full-time wheelchair user, although she can transfer independently. Mary also has some mental health challenges. She has grown up children with grandchildren who are very important to her and who she loves to spend time with. Mary also enjoys art and craft activities although she has not done this for some time but is interested in going to classes locally and meeting new people.**Team Leader**:As well as providing support to our client as shown below, the Team Leader will lead and support Mary's care team including the organisation of rotas, liaising with her family and many health professionals involved in her care. They will provide supervision and support for the team, as well as being involved in the recruitment of new team members. This job will suit someone who is organised, calm and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role.**Bank/Part Time Support Worker**:To support Mary with maintaining her home and wellbeing during the day, which includes support with daily living i.e. cooking, supervising her to take her medication and some personal care tasks. This role will also require you to arrange activities and travel with her to appointments.This is wonderful opportunity to make a real difference to Mary's life by maximising her opportunities and promoting her independence wherever possible**.**
**Pay and Benefits**:
- £17 per hour (Team Leader), £15 per hour (Bank/Part Time Support Worker)
- 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata,

**In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered**:

- On-going support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR department.

- About You
**Essential**- Full Driving License (endorsements to be disclosed) and able to drive the client in your own vehicle
- Experience of managing or leading a team (TL)
- Experience/understanding of mental health issues.
- Experience / experience of spinal injury.
- Enjoy the company of two small dogs and assist in their care.
- Experience maintaining records, formulating appropriate care plans and risk assessments for clients (TL)
- Able to maintain effective working relationships, including the utilisation of the appropriate person management skills required to lead, train and support a team of support workers (TL)
- Able to develop an appropriate range of activities and willing to participate in a variety of outdoor activities
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and to respect our client and their family's need for privacy.
- Experience of managing budgets
- Confident with using I.T
- Confident about working in client’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of the client.
- Patient, tolerant with a proactive and encouraging approach.
- Responsible attitude and able to use own initiative.
- Reliable, trustworthy and a good communicator.
- Adaptable to change and open to learning opportunities
- Able to ensure constituency of approach.
**Desirable**
- Experience of and qualifications (NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
- Previous experience of managing and organising the maintenance of specialist equipment for disabled people
- Ability to work additional hours as required
- Good sense of humour, cheerful and a positive attitude.
