We are looking for an experienced and creative marketing professional to join our exceptional Marketing Team as a Marketing Officer. The Marketing Officer will assist the Director of Admissions and Marketing with the planning and delivery of the annual marketing plan and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities to support the key strategic aims.
A versatile role, the Marketing Officer will work on a variety of projects from supporting in the creation and publication of compelling PR stories across national, regional, educational and Catholic press to support the strategic objectives of the school, to being involved in organising the filming and photography of the school campus & events, and creating content to post on various external media channels.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
Support the Director of Admissions and Marketing, contributing to the department’s strategic aims
Lead on specific campaigns as agreed with the Director of Admissions and Marketing, from the ideas and briefing stage through to campaign delivery and evaluation
Booking of press advertising and managing the press schedule, briefing in required press artworks to the Graphic Designer
Copywriting for offline marketing materials
Liaising with staff and other stakeholders to identify potential news stories for the website and PR opportunities
Support in the creation and publication of compelling PR stories across national, regional, educational, and Catholic press to support the strategic objectives of the school
Be responsible for capturing the day to day life of Stonyhurst through photography and video
Involved in the organisation of filming and photography of the school/campus events and editing of content to post externally on various media channels
Contribution to the day-to-day management of all social media channels including Stonyhurst Link
Contribution to the maintenance of the website, across all school websites, including instigating a process to ensure that content is current and regularly refreshed and liaising cross-departmentally to facilitate it
Brand guardianship to ensure consistency of house style and understand branding principles
Brief marketing collateral to the in-house Graphic Designer and managing the design process
Producing marketing collateral for digital and print using programmes such as the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva
Basic editing of video content for social media campaigns using Adobe Premiere of Canva
Supporting the Director of Admissions and Marketing in tracking performance against KPIs
Support in budget management
Research competitor activity and best practices from both within and outside the sector
Work flexibly as is necessary within a small department
Possess a willingness to continuously learn and expand your knowledge in order to keep up with the latest technologies and marketing trends
Comply with and promote the School’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and maintain a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors ensuring that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others
To be familiar with relevant policies and procedures and to take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the children and young people in the School
Carry out and other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time within the context of the post
**Person Specification**
- Essential_
Educated to degree level or equivalent with at least 3 years experience in a marketing or communications role
Experience of, and proficient in, Microsoft Office Software
Practical working knowledge of design software (i.eAdobe Photoshop)
Experience using a content management system
Experience of project and / or campaign management
Proven experience of delivering strong and engaging content, specifically the creation of compelling PR stories
Experience of using social media in a professional context

Experience of agency management and budget management
Understanding of digital and SEO
Experience in the creation and management of website content
Experience of photography, videography and using video editing software
