Non Clinical Research Tutor

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with research expertise to join the Oxford DClinPsy programme as a full time research tutor. A clinical qualification is not required (but those clinically qualified would of course be eligible to apply). This is to meet the demands of the expansion of the DClinPsy programme and the development of closer links with the Department of Experimental Psychology.
In collaboration with the Directors and the senior research tutor, to work on planning and monitoring of the training and supervision activity of the doctoral course in relation to research design, to provide consultancy in all matters relevant to the research of clinical psychology doctoral students.
To provide significant input into the research supervision of DClinPsy students by being first or second supervisor, and by providing consultancy to internal and external supervisors supervising other students.
(If the appointee is a HCPC registered clinical psychologist, there will be additional responsibilities for Course Tutor and line management of Trainees).

- Write research articles for prestigious peer-reviewed journals, present papers at conferences, and participate in seminars to disseminate research findings
- Liaise with examiners and academic staff regarding examinations and assessment of student performance, and the development of new courses, and researchers in related fields to share information and expertise
- Train and where appropriate, supervise or mentor other members of the team on matters related to research, specialist methodologies, or procedures
Information systems
- To take responsibility for recording information accurately and sensitively, and respecting trainee and supervisor confidentiality in line with the Trust Rules and the British Psychological Society Code of Conduct and Professional Practice Guidelines.
- To take part in the planning and organization of systems for recording research information relevant to trainees, as set out above.
- To work with admin to update the programme website with all relevant activities.
Research and Development
- To be actively involved in scholarly activity, including publishing, and initiating original, clinically relevant research.
- To supervise elements of trainee research within the programme, specifically selected main research projects, service improvement projects and Systematic reviews of the literature.
- To collaborate with Course team members in research design, implementation, and activity.
- To engage with the training programme appraisal and personal development plan process both as appraiser and appraisee.
General
- To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, in consultation with the post holder’s managers.
- To contribute to the development and articulation of best practice in all research areas across the service.
- To maintain the highest standards of research record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society, HCPC and Trust policies and procedures.
