Our in-house Litigation team works closely with our Claims and Recoveries teams, to resolve claims made through our Rent Guarantee and Legal Services products to obtain possession of the property, where a tenant is in breach of the Tenancy Agreement, andto recover any Rent Guarantee and legal costs which have arisen as a result of a successful claim.
As a Paralegal you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of cases through to completion, undertaking a number of activities including issuing notices seeking possession; drafting and issuing of possession proceedings and money claims; preparation ofCourt bundles ahead of any listed hearing; taking instruction and drafting replies in relation to defended matters; determining the most appropriate enforcement action to recover unpaid rent and legal costs.
- Draft and serve notices seeking possession pursuant to the relevant sections of the Housing Act 1988, or other applicable legislation
- Draft and issue claim forms and particulars of claim relating to possession proceedings and debt claims
- Prepare hearing bundles for our solicitors advocates, Defendants and the Court
- Conduct Review hearings with duty advisors and the Defendants in the proceedings
- Take instructions and draft replies in relation to defended litigation
- Enforce orders of the Court, with regard to recovering possession, outstanding rent arrears and legal costs
- During peak periods of demand, you will also support your colleagues in the Claims and Recoveries teams with handling pre-litigation matters under the terms of our Rent Guarantee insurance lines
- Understand the service level agreement in place with any outsourced provider, liaising and chasing as needed to ensure successful outcomes are reached
- Presenting overview of file status and proactively make recommendations on issues identified
- Adhere to all relevant policies, Standard Operating processes, regulatory and business service level agreements

**Desirable**:
- Graduate in Law;
- Level 3 Diploma in Law & Practice with CILEx
- Experience in Contractual Disputes / Civil Litigation / Debt Recovery / Landlord & Tenant Litigation
- 12 months experience in a regulated environment, such as FCA, SRA or CILEx
