I am seeking a Personal Carer that can assist in my day-to-day life and outings when needed.

**Job title**: Care Assistant / Personal Carer

**Place of work**: Forest Row. Travel away from normal place of work may be required on occasions.

**Salary**:Pay will be made four weeks in arrears by cheque.£160.00 a working day.

**Hours of work**: Flexibility is essential, as my needs will vary depending on my activities each day.Live-in shifts run from 3 pm on a Wednesday to 3 pm Wednesday (weekly/fortnightly rolling rota). With2- or 3-hour daily breaks.

This is a permanent position

**Background to job**

I am a disabled female ( I need assistance with mobility, wheelchair user, also have a visual impairment as I am photophobic ) I am 47. I live in my own bungalow in the centre of Forest Row (which I like to run) with some pets (including a Cat,). I am avegetarian. I have a few leisure interests including Short Mat bowls, New Age Kurling, computers and a number of crafts including knitting and painting. I have a good sense of humour and get on with people. I also do some voluntary work mainly from home forseveral local disabled access and equality groups. I don’t like early mornings preferring a lay-in but going to bed late.

**Main Duties**

Personal Assistants are required to undertake a range of tasks, which I am unable to undertake myself or need assistance with. It is essential that Personal Assistants are flexible and adaptable as my needs vary from hour to hour and therefore the tasksrequired will vary accordingly. Personal Assistants will be required to:

- Assist with dressing
- Assist with mobility so I can get to and from the toilet/shower
- Assist with shopping and other associated tasks
- Assist me to get to meetings, social events, etc and providing assistance while there.
- Assist with getting in and out of my vehicle
- Driving my manual wheelchair accessible vehicle.
- Assist in preparing pescatarian (mainly vegetarian but some fish) meals.
- Assist with cooking
- Assist with correspondence, reading and writing.
- Making drinks.
- General housework, including cleaning and dusting.
- General laundry tasks, including washing and ironing.
- Assist with general pet care.

Personal Assistants should be able to handle the physical side of pushing a manual wheelchair and loading it into a car.
