The Manchester & Trafford Local Care Organisations (LCOs) Head of Nursing (Learning Disabilities) will support the Director of Nursing and Professional Lead and Deputy Director of Nursing and Professional Lead in leading and sustaining the LCO’s LD workforce, harnessing their value and identifying opportunities to develop new roles and ways of working. They will provide expert professional advice to a wide range of staff, develop strategy and implement policy and measure outcomes to assure the quality and safety of Nursing for people across Manchester and Trafford LCOs. The post holder will build relationships with key stakeholders working jointly to improve service provision across integrated pathways and enhance the person and family experience.
The Head of Nursing for LD is the professional lead for nursing across LD community health services in Manchester and Trafford, providing visible leadership across clinical services; setting, monitoring and maintaining professional high standards. With the Head of AHPs s/he will also support AHPs across LD Services. S/he is an innovative and dynamic practitioner committed to improving the patient/client experience, improving standards of care and services, commanding the confidence of colleagues within the service and other specialty teams across the Local Care Organisations and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).
