**Job Summary**

Finish times are mostly 6pm depending on functions/team matches.

**Duties**
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by the head chef.
- Support the chef in various tasks, ensuring that all food safety standards are adhered to during food handling and preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning work surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events or restaurant services as needed.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
- Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods.

**Skills**
- Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is advantageous but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is key.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic culinary skills, including familiarity with various cooking techniques and meal preparation methods.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well within a team setting, contributing to a harmonious kitchen atmosphere.
- Good communication skills to effectively liaise with chefs and other kitchen staff.
