Role: Accounts Supervisor - Luxury Furnishing Business

Location: Hertfordshire

The Role: This position is working for a well-established Luxury Furnishing business with a brilliant brand in the sector and exciting strategy for the future. They are hiring for an exciting Accounts Supervisor opportunity reporting directly to the Headof Finance. You will be a core member of the wider finance team and play a key part in supporting and strengthening the accounting function throughout all teams in the department and an exciting opportunity to for a driven individual who is looking to fasttrack their career and develop into a Management Accountant in the future.

Role Responsibilities
- Accounts payable - assisting in all areas of the purchase to pay cycle. Activities would include managing the accounts payable mailbox, scanning invoices, matching, and authorising payments, debit note management, preparing BACS payments and assisting withrelevant queries from the business and suppliers
- Accounts payable - assist in periodic activities including supplier statement reconciliations, management of unapproved invoices, unprocessed goods received note and aged creditors reports
- Cash office - this is the lead role and is responsible for processing and reconciling of cash from all the stores. This extends to preparing for cash collections, processing gift card payments and various refunds where necessary
- Accounts receivable - assisting where needed with processing of various customer refunds, assisting with outstanding customer balances, and various debtor reporting and reconciliations
- Customer credit - assisting with all back-office functions relating to our 3rd party credit services offered to our customers
- Ad hoc
- assisting the accounts functions as well as other departments in other finance matters and projects including, but not limited to month-end, management accounts, assisting auditors at year end, petty cash and expenses, VAT and ONS queries, bankreconciliations
- Technology and modernisation - assist the business in looking to adopt new technologies and ways of working to drive performance and efficiencies in accounts payable and other areas where possible
- Previous experience working within a busy Accounts Payable department
- Experience of handling and reconciling cash
- Attention to detail whilst simultaneously working in a high-volume transactional environment and able to remain calm under pressure
- Someone that can work independently to meet deadlines and prioritise appropriately.
- It is essential that this person is willing to 'roll-up their sleeves’ and understand the details of the business as well as being able to understand the bigger picture
- Looking to study towards their ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
