As a Lead Speech and Language Therapist, join the dynamic multidisciplinary team at Gateway Recovery Centre. You will help some of the most vulnerable people build a brighter future and get to enjoy the satisfaction that brings.

Previous experience working with Mental Health services is essential, and prior experience of working with people with learning disabilities and/ or Autism. You will provide the Lead SLT specialist role in the hospital; *_however, you will also be requiredto support assessments in hospitals in the local regional as and when the regional service requires this_. You will be providing assessments, interventions and treatment and contribute towards MDT assessments and work. Building one-to-one rapport withservice users, you will encourage engagement and empower recovery.

With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of training courses to support you reach your career goals.

**The Lead Speech and Language Therapist role will involve**:

- Managing your caseload independently, with clinical supervision and support from more experienced clinicians
- Demonstrating specialist knowledge in communication and swallowing disorders
- Completing assessments of communication needs
- Planning therapy sessions
- Implementing interventions, including groups and 1:1 work
- Evaluating outcomes
- Contributing to team meetings, attend ward rounds, and CPA meetings where you will feedback on service users' progress
- Accurate record keeping and report writing
- Liaison with the dysphagia trained therapist
- Opportunities for additional training

**To be successful in this role**:

- To be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, and be registered with HCPC
- To have experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
- Experience of working with people with Mental Health conditions. Experience working with other conditions such as Learning Disability and/or degenerative/ neuropsychiatric conditions is also advantageous.
- Evidence of continuing Professional Development
