The Trust runs the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight and provides governance for its conservation aims.

A fixed term casual hours vacancy has arisen within our Wildheart Animal Sanctuary animal team, based on the Isle of Wight, which will provide someone with an incredible opportunity to join us during this time. This role is seasonal and will be for the period of 6 months.

We are looking for someone to cover our teams days off and holiday during the busy summer season and therefore the animals sections you will work with will be diverse (from lemurs, monkeys, reptiles and wallabies to farm animals). It will also be a public facing role, so you will need to have fantastic people skills and enjoy answering enquiries and talking about the animals in our charge. Previous animal experience is preferred but we will consider recently qualified applicants.

Animal carers are responsible for maintaining high standards of husbandry and care for the animals assigned to them. They are expected to follow set husbandry standards and be involved in all aspects of care for the animals including enrichment, training, weighing of the animals along with their normal welfare duties.
