**Superintendent Pharmacist**

The Downland Practice has an exciting opportunity for a full or part time Superintendent Pharmacist.

In this position the Superintendent Pharmacist will have the responsibility for the Hybrid pharmacy’s governance and safety, as well as the operational management of all the dispensing activities at the practice.The Practice also employ two Clinical Pharmacists(CP) via the Primary Care Network, the CP and SIP work closely to maintain and improve patient services.

**Role Requirements**
- Ideal for independent minded, financially and clinically focused pharmacist who wants to develop career by taking on a superintendent role in addition to RP experience.
- Experience with drug purchasing and team management is essential.

**Role Responsibilities (not limited to)**
- Staff management including training.
- Delivery of Pharmacy patient services, advanced, enhanced services and PQS delivery
- Accountability for delivery of GPHC standards
- Maximise cost-effective prescribing and improve the quality of patient care using evidence-based resources supporting all relevant health professionals
- To update and maintain accurate patient medication records on the practice’s clinical computer systems, including advice given and action taken.
- The post-holder should recognize the importance of effective communication within the team.
- Ensure the confidentiality in all behaviour of team and all patient records and safeguarding to level 3.
- Implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management their own and others’ health and safety and infection control as defined in the practice Health & Safety policy, the practice Health & Safety manual, and the practice Infection Control policyand published procedures.
- Support the equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues.
- Participate in any training programme implemented by the practice and annual performance reviews and programme.
