**Retail Sales Assistant - Yacht Chandlery**
Title: Sales Assistant
**Salary**: Starting at £13.00 per hour + commission
Minimum of 20 hours per week, up to full-time available. Weekend working (alternate Saturdays) are required.

One of the UK’s largest Yacht Chandlers is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sales Assistant to join our growing team.
You will work front-of-house, advising and serving customers, and processing sales over-the-counter and via telephone.
Our product range is vast and some can be technical. You will be expected to learn our product range, their uses, and lookup technical information to best advise customers. A proactive and can-do approach is therefore essential.
**Person Specification**
The successful applicant will possess:
- Experience of boating products (beneficial but not essential)
- Experience of customer service activities
- Excellent time-keeping with a willingness to do more when required
- High level IT skillset with ability to learn new systems quickly to understand and effectively use our Electronic Point of Sale systems in detail
- A good use of the English language (both written and spoken) and be an excellent communicator
- Good numerical ability to correctly calculate discounts, margins, profit, percentages etc
- An excellent and confident telephone manner
- Experience of Stock Management (beneficial but not essential)
- Experience of working with a small team (beneficial but not essential)
- A supportive team member attitude, who adopts a can-do and flexible attitude
**Responsibilities**
- Assist customers in selecting products and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience.
- Utilize effective communication skills to address inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Perform merchandising tasks to maintain an organized and visually appealing store layout.
- Manage time efficiently to ensure timely restocking and inventory management.
- Upsell products and services to maximize sales opportunities while demonstrating product knowledge.
- Maintain a professional phone etiquette when handling customer calls and inquiries.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
