Psychological Therapist

Manchester Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIS) along with our Early Detection and Intervention Team(EDIT) have created two new therapy posts.
Our EIS and EDIT colleagues work alongside each other to offer therapy interventions to people either experiencing or at risk of experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
For Trainee CBTp Therapists, the successful applicants will initially be employed as a band 6 trainee therapist. On completion of the CBTp course, that role will be changed to a permanent band 7 Psychological Therapist within the service. For Therapists who have previously completed or will have completed the CBTp diploma by the time they start working with us, you will began as a Band 7 Psychological Therapist.
We prioritise the facilitation of CBTp within the service, but our therapy staff have a range of interests and experience that span multiple therapeutic modalities (e.g. compassion, schema, EMDR, Transaction Analysis, Psychodynamic, CAT, etc.). We will support the successful applicants to pursue BABCP accreditation if desired (we have colleagues who have successfully applied for such accreditation recently). In addition to consolidating and building on recent CBT training and clinical practice, we will also endeavour to support therapy staff to access additional CPD and training opportunities whenever possible (we also have a weekly in-house CPD slot that is usually very interesting and well attended by staff).
Our EIS and EDIT services cover the whole city of Manchester so it is advantageous to have your own transport or lots of comfort and confidence in using public transport across the city (from Wythenshawe, etc. in the south up to Blackley, etc. in the north - it is most likely that one of the posts will be anchored in the North team at Hexagon Tower and the other will be based at Chorlton House, but there will need to be flexibility to travel across the city at times).
Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) Foundation Trust employs over 6,400 members of staff, who deliver services from more than 160 locations.
We provide inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bolton, the city of Manchester, Salford, Trafford and the borough of Wigan, and a wide range of specialist mental health and substance misuse services across Greater Manchester, the north west of England and beyond.
Greater Manchester is one of the world's most innovative, original and exciting places to live and work. From the beauty of the surrounding countryside to the heart of the vibrant inner city with great shopping, entertainment and dining options.
Wherever you go you will experience a great northern welcome with people famed for their warmth, humour and generosity.
Our people enjoy their work, have opportunities to learn and develop their skills and are encouraged to generate new ideas that improve care for our service users.
Please see attached job description and specification information.
