We have a fantastic opportunity for a part-time (15 hours per week) Payroll Specialist, based onsite in Ruddington, Nottingham.
Reporting to the People Services Lead, you will be responsible for processing payroll in an accurate and timely manner in adherence to company schedules. Providing generalist support to the People Team and supporting other members of the People Services Team when required.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- To complete any administrative payroll tasks and process the payroll each month.
- Support the maintenance of the People Services Team inbox and responding to colleague enquiries sensitively, professionally and in a timely manner.
- Responding to general colleague enquiries.
- Maintaining HRIS and payroll systems, acting as a superuser.
- Responsible for monthly payroll inputting and processing and end of year processes.
- Support other functions i.e. Finance in ensuring payroll, pension data is reported correctly and accurately.
- Ensure company is compliant to legislation, tax and NI obligation etc
- Identifies, investigates and resolves discrepancies
- Administration of colleague benefits including coordination of updates and ensuring legal compliance
- Raising purchase orders and payment requests as and when required.
- General administration and support to the People team.
Other tasks and responsibilities

- Keep up to date with HR knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications & experience required for competent performance
- Previous experience working in a payroll position with knowledge of processing payroll in-house HRIS payroll systems
- Understanding of tax procedures, familiarity with benefits and processing of statutory leave and payments (SMP, SSP etc).
- CIPP qualification would be advantageous
- Essential requirement is accuracy and attention to detail with excellent organisational skills, IT skills including excel, pivot tables
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to be professional and deal with confidential issues.
