**Martin Williams (Hull) Ltd was established in 1990 by Martin Williams and is still a family run business today. Due to continued growth we are looking for a Quality Controller to join our team in Dumfries.**

**Position Overview**

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Controller to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring that all vehicles and projects meet our exacting quality standards before they are delivered to customers. You will work closely with the production and workshop teams to identify, correct, and prevent quality issues, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Inspect incoming vehicles to highlight any issues at handover.
- Inspect completed work (e.g., vehicle repairs, paint finishes, bodywork) for quality, accuracy, and compliance with client specifications.
- Identify defects, deviations, or incomplete work and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Maintain and update quality control checklists and documentation.
- Collaborate with workshop staff to reinforce a quality-first culture and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Assist with internal audits and support the implementation of quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).
- Liaise with customers, when necessary, to address quality concerns or inspections.
- Report regularly on quality performance metrics and contribute to root cause analysis and preventative actions.
- Complete required documentation
- Create handover document files for the customer

**Skills**

**Essential**:

- Previous experience in a quality control or inspection role within the automotive, vehicle repair, or manufacturing sector.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough understanding of quality standards and inspection processes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic IT skills (e.g., MS Office, digital reporting systems).

**Desirable**:

- Formal training in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Technical knowledge of vehicle bodywork, paint, and repair methods.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, automotive technology, or a similar field.

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
