Dartington Trust delivers progressive learning programmes in the arts, ecology and social justice. The organisation is based in a beautiful 1,200-acre, year-round visitor site, on the outskirts of Totnes in South Devon.

Lloyd Barnes Accountancy Recruitment has been exclusively retained to recruit the Trust's new Finance Director.

Working closely with the CEO and Executive Team, you will provide expert advice & guidance to ensure that the Trust has: a clear and sustainable financial strategy to meet its commitments.

More specific duties will include:

- Monitoring the organisation’s finances and implementing financial and procurement control
- Lead the finance department, taking responsibility for the provision of accurate and timely management information.
- Statutory accounting and tax compliance.
- Day to day responsibility for cashflow and cashflow forecasting.
- Manage the finance of development projects, including tax planning, funding and structuring.
- Attend and report at Trustee Board Meetings, Audit and Risk Committee meetings.
- Act as a Director on the boards of various subsidiary companies
- Act as an employer advisor for the Pension Trustee Company.
- Provide effective and supportive leadership for the finance team.

**Key requirements**:

- You must be a fully qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience.
- Experience in Higher Education and or a charity is desirable but not essential.
- Strong strategic skills coupled with an inherent ability to lead and inspire members of the leadership team.
- Have strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- Possess robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a commercial and analytical mindset.
