We believe that every person is unique, valuable and deeply loved by the creator God. **KEY ROLES** - To assist in carrying out planned maintenance tasks as is required on buildings and essential services. This may include painting and decorating, general repairs, development of the facilities, waste and pest control, cleaning vehicles and other jobs. - To assist with unplanned maintenance tasks as and when they arise. Occasionally this may be outside of “normal” working hours. - To assist in servicing the grounds of the estate as they require it, ensuring that boundaries are maintained, lawns are cut and all areas are kept tidy and in good repair. - To ensure that the Maintenance Shed, vehicles and buildings are kept tidy and that equipment is stored safely and correctly, responsibly caring for tools issued for personal or general use. - To ensure the safe, correct and appropriate use of tools and equipment, including power tools and vehicles. **ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS** - Some experience in one or more of the following: grounds maintenance, plumbing, painting & decorating, DIY - Full UK driving licence - It is a genuine occupational requirement that the holder of this post is a practising Christian whose lifestyle is consistent with the values and doctrine of the Christian faith **DESIRABLE** - An understanding of the basic principles of plumbing, painting & decorating - D1 qualification on Driving Licence - Welding qualification - Experience of vehicle mechanics - Experience working in a trade **WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU** - Monthly salary - Full-board single accommodation provided, if required - Paid annual leave (30 days per annum, inclusive of bank holidays) - Use of Centre facilities including outdoor equipment. - Opportunities to take an active role within the life of our local church and Christian youth work - Living as part of a vibrant Christian community in a beautiful part of Scotland - Opportunity for personal training and development - Weekly Team Fellowship on a Wednesday evening - Very favourable rates for family on most Abernethy holidays and camps - Participation in our annual 3 day Team Gathering - Living and serving in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway, with fabulous mountain bike trails nearby and easy access to the magnificent beaches of the Solway Coast **INTERESTED?**“The food throughout the weekend was exceptional.
