Contract Length: 1x 6 months 2x 12 months (Potential for extension pending further approval)
Location: 3 days at home, 2 days in one of regional hubs: London, Sheffield, Leeds Or Manchester - will need to live in commutable distance from one of these offices and travel costs will not be paid
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Market Rate

A Commercial Officer is wanted for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

**RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMERCIAL OFFICER**
- Contribute to the creation and delivery of market-leading category strategy which manages and develops supply markets to meet current and future Departmental needs.
- Provide commercial advice to a wide range of stakeholders, working with them to understand requirements and develop commercial strategies aligned to policy objectives, suppliers and supply markets.
- Project manage necessary workstreams and initiatives to ensure timely delivery of objectives, ensuring all necessary process, including formal stakeholder engagement and approval are completed.
- Support developing Workplace Transformation strategies to identify optimal delivery solutions, identification and delivery of savings initiatives and innovation opportunities.
- Contribute to project scrutiny and approval boards as required.
- Represent the Commercial team at senior management meetings.
- Support the delivery of procurement savings plans for specific categories in collaboration with the customer.
- Support the selection and implementation of appropriate commercial models to achieve Departmental strategy and goals and encourage supportive supplier behaviour.
- Effectively influence customers across the network to deliver value for money, achieving savings targets and sustainable outcomes in the procurement of works, goods and services.
- Provide expert advice on commercial risk management and deliver mitigation plans / strategies to manage identified risks at project level.

**SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AS AN COMMERCIAL OFFICER**
- Estates/FM Background is essential
- Knowledge/experience of NEC contracts
- Previous Public Sector Experience
- Contract Management
- Large-scale sourcing experience
- Tendering experience
- Call Off Contracts
- Bravo/Jagger experience
