**Role Description**

Opportunity to join the London office of a dynamic team of investment real estate professionals with substantial experience in the financing and development space. The role involves spearheading the origination of suitable Whole Loan, Mezzanine or Preferred Equity opportunities across the UK with particular focus on development, distressed and value add transactions predominantly in the mid-market space covering loan sizes between £10m and £75m.

This is an origination role in a fund that is looking to provide structured solutions to developers / asset owners that are expected to face significant cost over-runs on their developments, reduced liquidity affecting their inventory for sale product and requiring longer time periods to stabilise operating assets - all issues expected to arise due to increases in construction cost, inflation resulting to increases in the cost of living of the real estate end users and rising interest rates.

**Role Requirements**
- Minimum of 5 years of direct debt origination experience, ideally covering UK wide opportunities or alternatively several of the major cities in the UK;
- Strong own network of relationships with developers, high net worth individuals, family offices and real estate brokers is highly desirable;
- Ability to negotiate and structure development transactions in the higher leverage Whole Loan space would be beneficial;
- Proven capability of working within a team as well as independently and ability to successfully manage multiple transactions at the same time;
- Robust organisation skills required to tackle origination in a structured format and report back on an ongoing basis to Senior Management;
- Professional and efficient deal management skills required to ensure information is provided efficiently by the client and the flow of negotiations / client interactions during execution are effective.

**Role Responsibilities**
- Work closely with Senior Management to construct and execute the origination strategy for the UK market across both the residential and commercial real estate sectors;
- Spearhead the origination effort for Whole Loan, Mezzanine and Preferred Equity debt investment across the UK with a focus on identifying distressed / stressed opportunities that are expected to deliver +15% levered IRR returns;
- Maintain strong professional relationships with all market participants, ensured the highest ethics are adhered to when interacting with current or potential customers and contribute to the expansion of the Hilltop brand in the UK development financing market;
- Provide ongoing reporting to Senior Management in a comprehensive and structured format and show ongoing ability to adjust origination to relevant market developments, including introducing new potential lending products / opportunity types;
- Develop an efficient working model of screening new opportunities and filter out effectively situations that are unlikely to match the risk / return requirements of the fund or are likely to be an ineffective use of resources / consume time with no results;
- Work closely with the Execution / Transaction Management team (s) in order to ensure best in class execution which should generate client’s satisfaction with Hilltop’s service and create repeat business;
- Focus on early identification of clients that could present risk in relation to a lack of funds / ability to close the transactions and/or KYC / have On-boarding issues. Work closely with the Execution / Transaction Management team(s) to ensure the best On-boarding practices are adhered to and information is provided timely and efficiently by the client;
- Ensure the information flow during the execution is effective and successfully manage the various client negotiations / interactions required to close specific transactions.
