**Job Purpose**:
To ensure administrative processes within the hospital are maintained effectively through strict compliance to Spire procedures and to undertake basic financial processes in accordance with procedures as required.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES**
- To run various daily and monthly reports and action accordingly to specified work instructions.
- To ensure all billing is actioned promptly and accurately in line with Spire procedure identifying billing problems, placing billing alerts, suspending and clearing as required. To follow up on billing queries liaising with other departments and central teams as required.
- To establish and maintain excellent working relationships with the following parties:
Consultant Doctors
Heads of Departments
Hospital Director
Hospital support Centre Reading
- Maintain the accounts receivable query tracker, answering queries within the SLA to include 3 rd party disputes, re-coups and general queries.
- To perform daily cashiering, banking, petty cash duties and bank reconciliation's, posting entries to the accounting systems according to work instructions.
- To assist department managers with accurate input of payroll information and deal with staff queries through effective liaison with payroll department and Heads of Departments.
- To prepare the month end returns as required for the following:
Accruals and pre payments identified by the Heads of Departments
Payroll accruals
Petty Cash
- To process requests for payment of standard invoices, consultant fees and patient refunds. Any other duties as required.

**Who we're looking for**

Experience Essential:
The job holder must hold GCSE level Mathematics and English or equivalent minimum, PC literate with accurate keyboard skills and a minimum of one year's accounting experience.

The person will be required to have a well developed communication and interpersonal skills. The post holder must have the ability to act with tact and discretion as demanded by a given situation with the appropriate level of confidentiality.

**JUDGEMENT SKILLS**

The ability to collate, analyse and disseminate information and take actions based on information, experience and judgement.

**FREEDOM OF ACTION**

The post holder will possess skills and qualifications appropriate to the role and will therefore provide the support to all areas of the hospital. However, there will be the need to liaise with the HD and regional finance team for guidance and authorisation as necessary.
