We are currently looking for a Highways Inspector to join our Portsmouth team.

**Main Responsibilities**
The role of Highways Inspector is to carry out highways inspections on the network, ensuring compliance with the contract specifications in collaboration with the “Well Maintained ACOP”.

You will also represent Colas and Portsmouth City Council in a professional manner, investigating and responding to all public enquiries within the required timescales and record the information on the EXOR PEMS system.

You will ensure accurate records are maintained on the Maestro System this will assist with the appropriate information being provided to all parties, enabling the success of the target of minimum disruption to the network.

All duties will be carried out with mind to Colas’s commitments to lowering environmental impact and ensuring that all works carried out are undertaken with full regard for the safety of yourself, colleagues, contractors and members of the public.

You must be confident, driven and flexible in your approach to this role, as part of this team you will be expected to work under your own initiative and prioritise your own workload, whilst being committed to continuously improving for yourself and theteam.

You will be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and a working knowledge of health and safety and have strong ICT skills especially of Microsoft Office.

**Qualifications**
- LANTRA CITY AND GUILDS HIGHWAYS SAFETY INSPECTION (TRAINING GIVEN)
- NRSWA SUPERVISOR (NOT ESSENTIAL)
- VALID DRIVER LICENCE
- CSCS CARD HOLDER
- Good understanding / awareness of “Highways Act 1980”
- Highway Maintenance Experience.
- Good understanding / awareness of the “New Roads and Street Works Act 1991”
