**Reports to: Deputy Café Manager**

Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust (TCCT), is an independent charity dedicated to looking after the most important wildlife and heritage sites across the English Riviera in Torbay, South Devon. By being apart of the catering team you are directly helping to support this amazing Charity.

Are you passionate about food and want to be part of a vibrant, farm-based café team? Occombe Farm is looking for a Food Prep Assistant to help us deliver delicious, fresh food to our visitors to Occombe Farm Café and Play Barn Café.

What You’ll Be Doing: You’ll support our kitchen and café team by preparing fresh, high-quality ingredients and helping to ensure smooth food service operations.

Tasks will include:

- Prepping sandwich fillings, pastries, salad bowls, wraps, desserts, and more.
- Keeping the kitchen and prep areas clean, tidy, and safe
- Supporting with deliveries, stock rotation, and food storage
- Washing up and cleaning down at the end of day
- Following food hygiene and safety procedures
- Pitching in across the café and wider site as needed

What We’re Looking For:
Essentials:

- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2)
- Some experience in food prep or a kitchen environment
- Good communication and time management
- Friendly, flexible, and a great team player
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Desirable:

- NVQ in Catering or Food Prep
- Experience in a busy kitchen setting
- Understanding of allergens, food safety, and COSHH
