Payroll & Bookkeeping Assistant

A small, friendly accounting firm based in Stonehouse are looking for a payroll & bookkeeping assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a lovely company that can offer a great work environment within a small proactive team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintaining books and records for client portfolios - using Excel, Xero, QuickBooks and other packages. Extra training can be provided regarding the systems.
- Speaking to clients first-hand over the phone and face to face assisting with their queries.
- Performing a variety of tasks for clients including, preparation of VAT returns, preparation of payroll.
- Preparation of monthly CIS returns;
- Preparation of P11D’s;
- Collecting and processing the various submissions requirements for each payroll, to check and advise on payroll matters in addition to the employees’ pay.
- 2 years Payroll experience, preferable CIPP qualified by QBE also acceptable;
- Time management and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to develop and build on ideas and suggestions month on month to improve the efficiency, service offering, and accuracy of the payroll.
- Able to work independently to strict deadlines, whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Sage 50 cloud payroll knowledge would be preferable but not essential.

24 days holiday plus bank holidays, closure over Christmas, free on site car parking.

Location: Stonehouse office, easy access from M5, Junction 13.

Salary - £26 - £29k, plus bonuses.

Pay: £26,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
