Systems Specialist - UPM (hybrid/remote working options) Hybrid Working with 2 days in Preston, Lancashire Home working contracts will be considered. We are currently seeking a Systems Specialist, ideally with experience of using UPM (Civica) Pensions Administration system to join our Technology and Innovation department based in Preston. The role holder will work in the Systems Team and be involved in the maintenance of the current Pension System Application and to help support continued improvement and development of the system, including the development and maintenance of workflows and reports, to ensure that it meets the requirements of a successful third-party pension administrator. The Benefits: - From £35,000 to £45,000 per annum dependent on experience - 25 days’ holiday, plus Bank Holidays and additional concessionary days, with the ability to purchase additional leave - Access to an excellent pension scheme with generous employer contributions - Employee assistance programme - Employee referral scheme - 37 hour working week, with flexibility in working pattern - Access to our bespoke Reward Discount Scheme, "Your Perk Site" Essential experience: - Practical experience in the development and support of workflows in a pension administration system, ideally UPM. - Ability to understand and interpret business requirements into system developments - Ability to review and improve end to end processes - The ability to evaluate issues and challenge effectively to create and deliver solutions that improve processes and attitudes within a team environment, including logical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Displaying excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to use evidence and knowledge to support accurate, expert decisions and advice to support LPPA objectives. - Attention to detail and innovative thinking skills. - Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands. - Supportive team player using motivational skills to build good working relationships with managers and staff whilst delivering excellent customer service across team functions. - Ability to represent the LPPA at external meetings and working groups. Desirable experience: - Experience of using UPM (Civica) Pension Administration system - Excellent knowledge of UK Pension Legislation, ideally LGPS Key Responsibilities: - Maintenance and development of workflows for LGPS, Fire and Police schemes, providing guidance to the business on improvements via automation and bulk processing. - Maintenance and development of standard letters, working with administration and project teams on standardisation of communications. - Configuration and development of the employer and member websites, suggesting improvements to the product and extending use of self-service and automation - Liaison with pension administration teams to identify improvements in processes and procedures to deliver the benefits of the pension system - Work within project teams to introduce new features and processes - Train users in the use of the system, supporting the L&D team in the creating training material where necessary - Create ad-hoc reports using in-built tools and SQL server reporting. - Carry out testing of new releases, including the setup of the test harness for calculations. Ensure that releases are signed off and of an acceptable level for release into Live. - Liaise with the pension administration system suppliers, logging tickets and following through to successful resolution. - Responsible for providing support to users on system capabilities, ensuring users are informed of changes to the system. Maintain security profiles in the system against roles to ensure the security of the data within the system complies with ISO and Audit policies and carry out system user administration.
