What you'll do

As the Category Planner for Household, Baby and Pet at Sainsbury's, your main responsibility will be to drive performance by working with stakeholders across the business to build, implement, and prioritise category projects and strategy. This role requires you to have a deep understanding of the market and commercial dynamics, as you will guide the running of crucial insights projects to help define long term category plans, considering a diverse range of KPIs to help direct what we should be working on. Additionally, you will be the custodian of the customer for the category, translating insights into viable commercial opportunities that drive return on investment while considering the end-to-end customer journey. You will also be responsible for owning the category initiatives and resource planning, supported by sharing updates on the category's performance through market intelligence sources. Excellent communication and influence skills, strong organisation capabilities, quick decision-making ability, and data interpretation skills will be crucial to excel in this role.

As a Category Planner for our Household, Baby and Pet team, you are a highly skilled professional with a strong commercial understanding and a keen eye for detail. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing market environment and excel at reacting quickly to changing market conditions while managing diverse priorities. Your ability to build strong relationships and your expertise in analysing data, market intelligence, and consumer trends enable you to drive performance and deliver value through optimised hierarchy planning, category project planning and prioritisation as well as supporting on a range of format, supplier planning and category activation strategies. With your excellent influencing and communication skills, you effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring the delivery of high-quality plans and contributing to the overall success of our Win in Food strategy. Your strong analytical skills, organisational abilities, and commitment to continuous improvement make you a valuable asset to our Category Planning team.
