Are you looking for a new challenge within an exciting new project? Our Suffolk Secure Services Forensic Community Mental Health Team are looking for an Assistant Practitioner to join their existing team.

The team you’ll be joining providesrecovery-focused community care. This is for those who have offended and have been, or are being, discharged from a secure unit.

We have been awarded some collaborative funds for the next 12 months, which will help us focus on service user progression and achieving the best for them by reducing the risks of re admission, shorter stays in hospitals and supporting with more community resource to aid recovery.
- Experience or a keen interest in Mental Health
- Foundation degree in Health and Social Care or equivalent e.g. level 5 apprenticeship in Mental Health
- The ability to travel independently
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive can-do approach to their work

As Assistant Practitioner within our team, you will focus on supporting reintegration back into the community, by in reaching service users placed in inpatient areas and proactively supporting plans to discharge into the community.

Our welcoming and collaborative team is recovery focused and works with a mixed caseload of male and female service users, who have complex mental health needs.

This is a vital role and your wealth of skills and expertise will be welcomed and truly valued. You will be expected to complete collaborative assessments and review CPA with service users as well as their friends, family and carers.

By joining our team, you will be well supported to develop further your knowledge and skills to deliver evidence-based interventions for the group of service users. Personal development will be supported through meaningful Appraisal and via a bespoke training package (a comprehensive in house & external training programmes). On a monthly basis you will be offered reflective practice sessions, mandatory clinical supervision, and Line management supervision. You will also have an opportunity to actively take part in Quality improvement projects within the service.
