Hours: 40-45 per week. Some weekend work. 5 days a week. Paid lunch hour.
Wages advertised are based on the minimum of 40 hours per week.
Wage is dependant on age: £10.26 per hour for over 21, £8.81 for 18-20, £6.05 for 16-17.
As this is an apprenticeship role, you will come to college for training. Please consider how you will commute to and from Plumpton College.

Cowdray Estate comprises of 16000 acres, home of English polo, sitting in a national park in beautiful West Sussex.
**What will the apprentice be doing?**
It is very much a Customer facing role, giving a happy, premium service to all our customers, you will be merchandising the offering, learning the butchery trade in all areas and in detail, keeping the butchery area of the shop clean and and in good order.
**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**
The final certification will be for L2 Butchery.
The apprentice will learn:
- Knife skills - including cutting, boning, trimming and mincing of meat
- Health and safety practices, food safety and hygiene and key legislation
- Using butchery tools and machinery - including mincing, sausage making, bacon curing, vacuum packing
- Business profitability, maximising productivity, efficiency and customer care
- Team work and customer care skills
- Specialist retail shop or processing plant butchery skills
- Qualifications Awarded_
- Butchery Level 2 Apprenticeship Certificate
- Level 2 award in food safety
- Level 2 award in health and safety
- Level 2 award in knife skills
- Level 1 in maths and English (if applicable)
