**About The Role**:
**The ER (Employee Relations) Team**
The ER Team provides timely ER support to internal clients in managingpeople issues. This role is important, being the first point of contact formanagers and requires good general ER knowledge and excellent customer service.
**Role Purpose**
Working within the employee relations (ER) team to provide professional,commercially driven, proactive and timely advice and support on all facets ofemployee relations. Including the delivery of expert employment law advice andthe development of HR policy and procedure documentation.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Offer an effective, efficient and cost driven service to the business in relation to the management of an ER Caseload.
- Provide expert employment law advice, particularly relating to employment contracts, industrial relations, TUPE, change management, discrimination, restructures, redundancy, performance management, absence management and disciplinary, capability and grievance matters
- Responsible and accountable for casework and ER issues, providing both best practice and commercial advice and solutions.
- Work with other members of the ER team to ensure consistent, impartial, commercial advice is given
- Develop effective working relationships within the business to promote positive, proactive and fair employee relations across the organisation, including the provision of training
- Assist with policy development, understand changes in legislation and provide support to implement appropriate changes within the business.
- Assist with the development, planning and delivering of team induction
**Health and Safety Duties**
- Participate in any communication activities through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas
- Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actionsEnsure that you have received the necessary training so that you can competently carry out your duties and responsibilities. Acknowledge and accept a personal responsibility for safety
- Take responsibility for reviewing the safe system of work prior to the commencement of the work activity.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
- Raise any concerns over Health & Safety breaches in accordance with Company Procedure.
**Group Safety Support**: You will be required to work closely withthe Group Health and Safety team who are available to provide safety advice andsupport. Furthermore you will be required to ensure that safetyinitiatives are implemented within your areas of control.
**Objectives and Measures of the role**
- Provide accurate employment law advice on a broad range of employee relations issues within timescales set out in SLA’s and internal KPI’s.
- Timely project management in respect of TUPE transfers.
- Establishment and maintenance of case management records, including any formal actions taken are recorded in the appropriate data management systems.
- Produce management information/training where requested in a timely manner.
