Principal Data Architect

My client one of the biggest retail companies in the UK are currently looking for a Principal Data Architect to join their team on a perm basis.

The Principal Data Architect role is part of a team of architects within my clients Tech, focused on the architecture that enables existing data related capabilities, while evolving the estate to cater for significant future growth to meet the business ambitions.It's an exciting time to be joining this team, as there are huge opportunities to help scale my clients data capabilities to the next level.

**We are looking** for a person that has significant expertise in data engineering, data science, software development, and/or technical/engineering role(s) with a data focus, complemented with time spent in a formal architectural role.

You will have a technical background in large scale data warehousing, data lakes, distributed data processing and advanced analytics concepts. This will be complemented with fluency in modern data architecture patterns and practices including logical andphysical data modelling, semantic modelling, metadata, streams and data enrichment.

During your career you will have picked up strong skills in one or more of SQL, python, scala, C# and/or related data manipulation language skills and obtained technical proficiency in azure cloud data technologies, and advanced working knowledge of BI,reporting and data visualisation development (Power BI preferred).

You will have proven experience developing and delivering effective technical strategies, conceptual, logical, and physical architecture artifacts for business and technical audiences. To effectively communicate these, you will have exceptional written andverbal techniques to present ideas and influence outcomes through partnership with business directors, engineering teams and stakeholders.

Previous experience in retail would be beneficial.
