Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

The post holder will contribute to the provision of health and social care to the people served within BCUHB by participating in the achievement of the Health Board’s mission and quality objectives by providing high quality, safe, efficient and effective speech and language therapy services within available resources and in accordance with the registration and Code of Practice of the RCSLT and the HCPC.
We are seeking a part time, permanent, Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language therapist to work in our supported and motivated Additional Learning Needs Speech and Language Therapy team.
The post holder will work 3 days per week in special schools across Gwynedd and Anglesey working alongside Band 7 Speech and Language Therapists, Specialist teachers, Educational Psychologists and school staff. We are seeking someone who has experience of working within multi-agency teams, and across boundaries and experience of using of Alternative and Augmentative Communication would also be advantageous.
Existing dysphagia competencies are desirable but not essential and we will fully support the post holder to train and obtain certified competencies if needed.
Our department has established systems for supporting professional and managerial supervision and mentoring, and is committed to supporting professional development.
The population of Gwynedd and Anglesey is naturally bilingual and local services are provided bilingually in Welsh and English. Therefore a bilingual Welsh/English speaker is essential.
