Estate Handyman

**Job description - Estate Handyman**

**Would consider Part-time Employed/Self Employed.**

A privately owned Estate located within the North York Moors National Park is looking for a an Estate Handyman to help maintain all aspects of the Estate (including a portfolio of guest accommodation, let properties and the owner’s principal house). All maintained to the highest standard.

Successful applicants will be part of a small team working with the owner, Estate Manager, Guest Accommodation Manager and wider Estate team.

Previous experience on a private estate preferred and ideally spray certificate level PA1/PA6 and chainsaw training.

A full clean driving licence is required for the commute to and from the rurally located estate.

Typical duties will include but may not be limited to:
- General routine maintenance within the property portfolio
- Dealing with private house/estate duties (e.g. waste disposal, solid fuel fires, gutter cleaning, blocked drains, decorating, meter readings, car valeting, provision of firewood)
- Maintenance of driveways and external hard landscaping (e.g. york stone paths)

Other occasional duties to include:

- General garden maintenance
- Lawn cutting, strimming, weeding, spraying, planting, pruning, watering, hedge trimming, drainage
- Assisting with maintenance of all garden machinery
- Establishing and maintaining a fruit orchard and a vegetable garden
- Weed & pest control

Working Week: Part-time - 3 days per week.

Emergency on-call weekend cover shared on a rota basis.

Holidays based on FTE of 30 days including 8 bank holidays.
