The Mercer Collection Hotels are currently looking to recruit a hotel receptionist to join our small front of house team. Applications are welcome for part time or full time hours. Are you passionate about providing customers with the very best guest experience? Our guests are the focus of everything we do and a friendly, warm welcome from reception is the starting point for a good stay. **The role is very customer focused and involves: - ** Checking in Guests and welcoming them to the hotel; Helping with their requests i.e. taking items to the room, assisting with room service orders, booking them taxis or restaurant meals; Using our online system to enter relevant data and notes at check in fully and accurately; Taking payments and logging these appropriately; Taking basic reservation calls following our standard procedures or taking information and passing to our reservation team; Working closely with your food & beverage colleagues to ensure a professional and streamlined approach across the hotel; Communicating with the Head Housekeeper throughout the day; Liaising with the night staff. **The right person**: Will enjoy a relaxed working environment; Can manage their own time and work independently with confidence; Enjoy spending time with customers and assisting them; Able to communicate in a friendly and warm manner; Maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues - the role is integral to the smooth running of the day-to-day hotel; A "team player" happy to help out in different areas when needed i.e. making coffees/serving drinks when busy, simple cleaning tasks such as keeping the reception area tidy. Solid knowledge of Southsea/Portsmouth is advantageous i.e. awareness of the key attractions such as the Dockyard, Spinnaker Tower, DDAY museum. Starting rate is £11.44 with a review after your probation ends. Reception staff are included in the front of house tips also. We welcome CVs with a short cover note.
