This is an exciting time to be join the Wildlife Trust and help deliver our vision of a Wilder
Birmingham and Black Country. The Senior Biodiversity & Planning Officer is a critical
role, providing expert knowledge to the whole organisation in matters relating to wildlife
legislation and planning, and helping to protect the area’s most important wildlife habitats
and species.
We’re looking for someone with the skills and experience to undertake site surveys and
assessments, promote and influence developers to build wildlife into new developments, and
will need to demonstrate excellent technical and inter-personal skills. You will be
well-organised and have the confidence to work independently and on your own initiative.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 year’s relevant experience demonstrating technical
competencies. You will be able to demonstrate a positive attitude to partnership working, and
in working effectively to deadlines. It is essential that you have a degree or equivalent
qualification in a relevant environmental science, or demonstrable relevant experience in the
sector.
