Temporary Contract - 12 Months
**Hours**: 37.5 hours Full time
**Base**: Research and Development, Royal Bolton Hospital
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Research team in the role of Clinical Trials Assistant, to support the growth and development of clinical research across the Trust.
The Clinical Trials Assistant works closely with the research nurses and practitioners to provide comprehensive administrative support, ensuring effective management of a defined portfolio of research studies and caseload of patients participating in clinical trials.
The post-holder will support the clinical team by providing comprehensive administrative support relating to trials.
With excellent IT skills and a good eye for detail, the role will involve maintenance of trial site files and collection and accurate input of research data to complete electronic case report forms.
They will be able to communicate effectively with the research team, study sponsors and clinical / support departments to assist with the set-up of new trials and be able to communicate effectively with research participants to arrange appointments and collect basic research data and information.
Some basic laboratory support will also form part of the role, organising research samples and arranging storage and transport as needed.
The purpose of the role is to assist the clinical research team with all aspects of administration related to clinical trials according to good clinical practice, standard operating procedures and Trust policies.
The post holder will liaise with a number of external agencies (trial coordinating centres).
The post holder will be involved in the setting up of new trials and the on-going management of existing trials.
The post holder will also provide support to the Clinical Research staff in their daily activity.

- Ensure that research activity is conducted within requirements of a multi-regulated clinical research environment.
- Raise the profile of research.
- Demonstrate awareness and contribution to Trust and national objectives for Research.
