Job Title: Residential Care Worker
Responsible to: Home Manager
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Main Purpose of Job:
As a Residential Care Worker, you will be dedicated to providing exceptional childcare practice by offering guidance, support, and nurturing care to young individuals. Your primary goal is to attend to their practical, physical, and emotional needs, serving as a positive role model to empower them in overcoming challenges and realizing their full potential. Collaborating closely with the Home Manager, you'll contribute to cultivating a therapeutic environment aligned with the Company's core values, thereby fostering staff development and ensuring enhanced outcomes for every young person under our care.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively safeguard and advocate for the welfare of the children and young people entrusted to us.
- Champion the delivery of a secure, structured, and nurturing environment, promptly reporting any concerns regarding safety or welfare.
- Execute all key worker responsibilities diligently, ensuring the individual and collective needs of our children are continuously assessed and documented.
- Encourage active participation of our children in their environment and daily activities.
- Employ a variety of behavior management strategies to engage with and support children displaying challenging behaviors.
- Assist children in identifying and navigating unsafe or harmful situations.
- Foster a caring and inclusive environment that honors and respects the racial, cultural, and religious identities of our children.
- Cultivate an open culture where children feel heard and valued.
- Maintain accurate and legible records of relevant information and ensure effective communication channels.
- Collaborate with the team to identify and implement solutions to challenges as they arise.
- Develop and nurture professional relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, children, and families.
- Ensure compliance with administrative requirements, childcare practices, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Actively participate in training sessions and development opportunities mandated by regulations and company policies.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to participate in sleeping in and shift work as per the rota system, including weekends.
- Flexibility to provide cover in other company homes when necessary.
- Attendance and active participation in supervision sessions and staff meetings.
