This is a great opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with construction industry experience to join an extremely well established and successful construction company.
**Responsibilities;**:
- Provide effective and positive health, safety and environmental support on all current legislation, policies and industry best practice and ensuring full compliance is maintained of the Company's certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001;
- Working with the Regional Health and Safety Manager to facilitate the ongoing business unit and company health and safety objectives;
- Facilitate and drive meaningful campaigns within the business unit;
- Provide ongoing development and refinement to the improvement and implementation of the health, safety and environmental management system, including the drafting of procedures and guidance documents to ensure stability for the company's changing needs.
- Provide briefing and coaching on company health, safety and environmental management systems.
- Promote and encourage health, safety and environmental awareness amongst the managers and employees of the business unit by providing communications, awareness training and any other suitable means;
- Ensuring all accidents are properly notified, investigated, reviewed and corrective actions are followed up. When necessary, participate in investigations of major accidents and incidents;
- Undertake site inspections to ensure legal and company compliance;
- Undertake office audits to ensure legal and company compliance;
- Assist with implementing occupational health surveillance and well being programmes;
- Provide H&S support when tendering for new bids;
- Provide monthly report for discussion at Regional Management Meetings
- Maintain knowledge of legislation, company policies and procedures which may impact the company's operations and to advise the business unit's management accordingly;
- Liaise with Client safety representatives and attend continuous improvement meetings organised by the Clients
**Knowledge, training and experience required**:
- Relevant minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Safety (such as NEBOSH or NVQ);
- Membership of a relevant professional body or working towards a membership;
**Salary**: From £35,000.00 per year
