Healthcare Assistant

It is expected that you will become confident in supporting highly volatile and emotive situations. Through supervision and debriefing, we will expect you to continuously learn from situations in order to deliver quality care and improve your practice.
You will have the ability to observe, report and record changes in patient's behaviour as well as their physical and mental health.
You will be expected to work across the current shift system (rotation between night shift and day shift).
You will be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. We have an expectation that you will be able to work together, take responsibility, be authentic and embrace change; we will support you to develop these leadership behaviours so that you become an exceptional member of your team delivering outstanding compassionate care to our patients.
We expect you to be physically fit enough to engage in physical interventions should the need arise. You will be expected to successfully complete Teamwork (PMVA) as part of your induction to the role; there is an expectation that you will be required to complete this training each year.
You will provide outstanding compassionate care to those experiencing mental illness and crisis. You will have the ability to deliver care following a patient's co-produced care plan.
At times, you might be required to support patients with their personal care tasks as well as other activities of daily living. You will be expected to escort patients outside the hospital for routine appointments and in emergency situations.
