**Position Summary**

Samsung Research UK have been at the forefront of the development of 5G, and now our focus is shifting to the research goals that move beyond 5G, towards 6G. We have a number of positions open for 6G researchers, as we first define what the future of mobile telecoms might look like, and then conduct the research to bring that vision into reality.

The 6G Research team in SRUK is responsible for research activities towards concepts and solutions for 6G technologies and communication systems. The team has a particular focus on Communication AI and next generation System Architecture. We identify, develop, and demonstrate innovative technologies, through publications, simulations, demonstrations and intellectual property.

We are looking for researchers to conduct work on 6G System Architecture. As someone who will work at the forefront of new technologies for next generation mobile communications, you will have in-depth knowledge on end-to-end network architecture, and bring fresh ideas and associated technologies. You will spot the system-level problems in 5G networks, explain what the implications of these problems are both technically and commercially, propose and advocate for solutions that improve operational, business case and societal metrics for future networks. You will then be provided the tools, time and backing to develop those solutions, and generating research.

**Role and Responsibilities**

As a (Senior/Principal) Researcher for System Architecture, you will:

- Report to the System Architecture Research Manager/Tech Lead in SRUK, help establish research areas on next generation network architecture
- Help drive and implement research areas on system architecture, have technical responsibility for developing innovative ideas, and consolidate them in the form of publications, simulations, IPRs, and demonstrations
- Responsible for developing
- Collaborate and influence internally and externally, to ensure our vision and solutions at the leading positions in the industry

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Ph.D. in telecommunications or related areas
- Research experience in two or more of the following areas: RAN and Core Networks, virtualised network, end-to-end network architecture, AI/ML, Micro-services, Kubernetes, orchestration, and life-cycle management.
- Extensive experience in generating publications, IPRs, white papers, and/or software demonstrations
- Development and validation of technology solutions into a simulator
- Excellent technical acumen and understanding of the emerging technical trends in the industry
- Excellent communication skills, team work, proficiency in problem solving
- Critical thinking, proactive, result-oriented and can-do attitude
- Willing to go above and beyond to meet dynamic project requirements
