We have some exciting opportunities available at Barking and Dagenham College.

We are looking for a **Job Coach-REACH **to join our REACH team.

You will join us on a** **part-time, term-time onlybasis, 28.8 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

In return we will offer a competitive salary of £27,590 - £29,761 pa inc London Weighting; this is the full time salary and will to be pro rata'd to 28.8 hpw, 39 wpy.

**The **Job Coach-REACH** **role**:
The purpose of the Job Coach role and the REACH Supported Internship project is to enable young people with a learning disability to secure a real job either with the host employer or outside

The REACH Job Coach role supports the REACH intern over a period of one academic year by providing specific job skills as they gain employability skills.

The coach provides further follow on support to the same group of interns to access long term employment either with the host employer or elsewhere as a key outcome of the role. The coach also provides support to the interns business colleagues, families, so as to ensure successful skill learning and assimilation into the work environment.

**Key Responsibilities of our** **role;**
- Provide individualised support to the interns at the host business worksite, to include job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accommodations, assistive technology
- Support interns to integrate into a job role by training them in all areas that support employability
- Identify and implement strategies to support the intern to complete employability tasks in the longer term
- Work with the REACH Tutor/Job Coach and educational partner to review intern performance and carry out monitoring and auditing as required
- Work with families/carers, job placement specialists, agency personnel, and other appropriate parties to problem solve issues relating to employability
- Administration duties (52 week role only)

**Our ideal Job Coach** **should have the following qualifications, skills and experience**:

- GCSE A-C, Grade 4 or above, or Level 2 in English and Maths
- Experience of working in a customer service environment
- Recent and relevant experience of teaching SEND learners at Entry level and level 1
- Experience of working with young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- A certificate in TSI - Systematic Instruction Methodology, and/or a training/coaching qualification at level 2 or above, would be an advantage
