Trafford CAMHS are looking to recruit experienced mental health practitioners to work at the Front Door of the service, undertaking duty and initial assessment processes, as well as providing evidence based interventions. You must have significant and demonstrable experience working with vulnerable young people and families who present with complex needs and often a risk to self and others. You must have specialist knowledge of CAMHS and have an understanding of assessing complex mental health needs and levels of risk, including safeguarding and self harm. You will understand the principles of CAPA and the Thrive Framework, and be able to work in partnership with children and young people, evidencing the effective use of routine outcome measures including setting goals and shared decision making. You will be an empathetic and compassionate worker who has experience working with and forming partnerships with other agencies and professionals. You will be skilled at helping children, young people and their families navigate getting help for their presenting needs.

To assume responsibility for management of a defined caseload and exercise the highest standards of professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children, young people and their families/carers using specialist knowledge and evaluation of care programmes in collaboration with children, young people and their families/carers liaising with and referring to relevant agencies as appropriate.

As an autonomous practitioner you will play a key part in the delivery of high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. In the multidisciplinary team setting you will manage a varied caseload within professional practice guidelines and a structured supervision framework.

Within a systemic and holistic framework, you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and provide therapeutic interventions, ensuring this is done evidencing shared decision making and partnership working with children and young people, their families and carers.

As part of working together you will actively liaise and support robust partnership working arrangements between the CAMHS Team and community partners and other key stakeholders involved with the child across agencies in order that an integrated package of care is developed.
