An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Administrator to join our Dorset Forensic Services. This is a full time post of 37.5 hours per week, Monday and Friday 9 am to 5 pm. You will be responsible for supporting the Dorset Forensic Services based at St Ann’s Hospital, Poole.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard-working, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and good sense of humour to join our caring, compassionate and hardworking team.

You must be able to work accurately under pressure and have excellent organisational skills whilst remaining calm and courteous and be able to work well as part of a team.

An understanding of the NHS is preferable but not essential, along with experience of working with an electronic patient record systems.

To provide efficient administrative and office service to Dorset Forensic Services, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm, including dealing with telephone calls, dictation, inputting to RIO, minute formal and confidential meetings, providing cross cover for the medical secretaries where appropriate.

To ensure patients and all contacts to the service are dealt with in a friendly, empathetic and professional manner and that the experience is positive.

To deal with confidential, contentious and urgent material proactively in as sensitive and appropriate manner.

To deal with complex tasks such as using a database which requires input and the recording of client information.
